A new excerpt from New Breed!

“I vowed to my dying wife that I would care for Elsebeth all her life. I couldn’t kill her, if given the chance. I know that is what I would need to do to free her soul, if the legend is true. I cannot leave her alone, so I must join your brood. I will care for her, however you see fit.” With that, Blythe moved toward Alec. Blythe changed her appearance to a less horrific countenance. She returned to her beautiful self, the woman Alec had fallen for. Blythe wept, inside. She could barely remember what it was like to share human compassion for anyone. She felt some remorse for placing these two lovely souls in this situation. If it were Bernard in her place, he would have chosen to kill Alec. The least resistance would be for the better. However, Bernard made a promise to Elsebeth to bring her father into this, should he decide to accept this destiny. Blythe truly cared for Alec. She wasn’t sure how, but she just did. “Alec, if I could feel remorse for what I do, I’d feel it for you now. My family’s survival is paramount. I do this, in the belief that you will use this cursed privilege and find ways to do well for human-kind for centuries to come. Alec, be the influence you are now, forever.” Blythe leaned towards Alec. She kissed him on his lips, tenderly. She then touched the area that she was to strike with her fangs.

I have always had a passion for writing, even before I knew it! New Breed and my other horror stories have been a labor of love and the characters are like family to me. I am also writing for my Christian Faith. Please enjoy which ever genre appeals to you.
